We’re thrilled to announce an exciting addition to the Launch Tech UK leadership team. As we continue to grow and strengthen our position in the automotive diagnostics market, we welcome Jon, our new Sales and Marketing Director, who brings a wealth of experience and a clear vision for the future.
In an exclusive interview, Jon shared his thoughts on joining Launch Tech UK, his approach to modern sales and marketing, and what lies ahead for the industry and our customers.
*“There really has never been a better time to join Launch Tech UK than right now. The business is already well established in the UK, has a large workshop and technician end user base, plus great distributor relationships across the market.
When you combine that with the recent acquisition by Launch Europe and the investment that they are making in us to support our long-term plans and aspirations, it was immediately clear to me that Launch Tech UK was the place for me.
What excites me the most is the fact I will be working alongside an already successful and strong team, which is only going to further grow, with a fantastic product portfolio and outstanding technical expertise.”*
Jon’s enthusiasm reflects the momentum we’re building as a company. With strong foundations and new investment, the future looks bright.
When asked about his strategy, Jon explained:
“In a sentence, I would say that my approach balances modern marketing with technical, relationship-driven sales whilst maintaining the customers’ needs at the heart of everything we do.”
This means leveraging digital platforms, creating engaging content, and strengthening partnerships:
*“From a marketing perspective, I will place strong emphasis on building brand and product visibility through our website and through social media engagement with our brand ambassadors.
I want us to share helpful case studies from our end users and further boost the creation of technical video content that showcases both product and the technical expertise of the great people we have within the business.
I also want us to work closely with our distribution partners to enhance the marketing material that is available to them for planned promotions that they have, supporting them to promote our products with confidence and ease.”*
On the sales side, Jon sees the strength of our field team as a key advantage:
*“From a sales perspective we have a fantastic field sales team in place already, the focus will be on using their outstanding technical know-how and product expertise, combined with detailed account management to ensure distributors and workshops receive the guidance they need.
A key aspect of how we deliver this will also lie in the aftersales service that our customers receive. We are further enhancing our capability to better support our customers after purchase and this will be a key part of our strategy moving forwards, giving our customers the confidence that Launch Tech UK should be their partner of choice.”*
Jon’s background gives him a unique perspective:
*“My experience of being an end user of Launch tools as well as selling them in previous equipment sales roles combined with my time in product and development, gives me a rounded understanding of the diagnostic market.
My experiences, combined with those of the existing team here, will allow us to ensure that we deliver best in class service to end users and distributors alike, making Launch Tech UK the partner of choice for our customers.”*
Jon highlighted the rapid changes in the automotive aftermarket:
*“The automotive aftermarket is in a transitional phase right now, changes in the car park are coming thick and fast, being driven by factors such as:
· Increasing numbers of EV and Hybrid vehicles on the road
· ADAS systems becoming commonplace
· New OEMs such as BYD, Omada and Jaecoo entering the UK and wider European markets.
· More manufacturers utilizing security gateways to ensure certified access to vehicle modules
· Growth in over the air software updatesCouple these factors and others with future legislative changes such as SERMI and pending changes to type approval legislation and you get a tide of change in the market that will impact everything we do.”*
These changes will drive demand for advanced diagnostics, training, and secure data access—areas where Launch Tech UK is ready to lead.
Jon’s immediate focus is on listening and learning:
*“The short time that we have left in 2025 will be a real discovery phase for me, of course meeting all the team here at Launch Tech UK, spending time with everyone and seeing the great work they do first hand is absolutely step one.
I will also meet with as many workshop owners and technicians as I can whilst on the road with the sales team to understand what is great about what we currently do and obtain feedback around where we can be better in 2026 and beyond.”*
Exciting projects are already underway:
*“We have plenty of exciting projects on the horizon internally too, our relocation to Milton Keynes, building the team and setting ourselves up for growth, the addition of our training academy, updates to our website, branding and marketing materials.
We certainly have plenty going on here already.”*
Jon’s closing words set the tone for collaboration:
*“Absolutely, we at Launch Tech UK are absolutely committed to delivering ‘best in class’ across all metrics and your feedback will be key to enabling us to do that. I am looking forward to getting into workshops and understanding where we can help the technicians who use our tools better.
I also look forward to meeting and working closely with our distribution partners and listening to feedback from them as to how we can build on the strong foundations our partnerships with them already have to deliver mutual growth.
And most importantly of all, to anyone who wants to reach out to me directly and discuss any topics my email is jon@launchtech.co.uk.”*
With Jon at the helm of Sales and Marketing, Launch Tech UK is poised for an exciting future. We invite our customers, partners, and industry peers to share their thoughts, collaborate, and grow with us.
